HANUMAN MAUI
Our 2025 Impact
Embodying Ram Dass’s legacy of loving awareness on Maui
Ram Dass spent the last fifteen years of his life in this house on Maui. Today it remains a living sanctuary, open for practice, retreat, devotion, and service. In 2025, hundreds of people came through its doors, many of whom never met Ram Dass in the body. They sat in his study, chanted in the garden, cooked for one another, and carried that love back out into the world. These numbers offer a glimpse of what that looked like.
67
PERSONAL RETREATANTS
Personal retreatants came to rest, reflect, and deepen their practice in Ram Dass’s home. Some arrived grieving, some searching, some simply weary. Held by twice-daily aarti, morning sadhana, and the quiet of the house, most left changed.
35
SEVAKS
Through our sevak service-immersion program, 35 people gave themselves to seva at the sanctuary, tending the house, the garden, the Mandir, and the community. Seva is the heartbeat of Hanuman Maui, and our sevaks carry it every day.
1,800
KIRTAN VISITORS
About 1,800 people joined us for kirtan. Voices from across Maui and around the world came together in song to Hanuman and Maharaj-ji, remembering who we really are. Kirtan is part of a fuller rhythm of weekly community meditation and dharma gatherings.
3,500
MEALS DELIVERED
Through Compassion in Action, our outreach program, volunteers delivered 3,500 meals, along with supplies and direct support, to more than 100 unhoused neighbors in Central Maui, twice every week. This is love, serve, remember in its most practical form.
10,000+
VOLUNTEER SERVICE HOURS
More than 10,000 hours of seva were offered in 2025. Hanuman Maui is grassroots and volunteer-led, with a board that receives no compensation, and it is funded entirely by donations. Every hour given is what keeps this sanctuary alive.
Weaving together the lineages of bhakti and aloha in service of all life
Now we have the opportunity to purchase Ram Dass’s home and hold it for our satsang and for generations to come. Through December 31, every gift is matched dollar for dollar. Learn about the Be Home Now campaign.
